St. John of Kanty

Priest and professor of the Krakow Academy, born in Kęty (1390–1473), he is the patron saint of Poland, Krakow Archdiocese, Krakow, and Kęty where his sanctuary is located, among others. He was renowned for his piety and diligence, and he encouraged people to receive the Eucharist as often as possible. Beatified in 1680 and canonized in the 18th century, he is buried in St. Ann’s Church in Krakow. His feast day falls on October 20.
